Viridan Sailing Center Rules
The Viridian Sailing Center is a facility intended for the enjoyment of our members, guests, and visitors. The following rules are in place to promote safety, respect, and an enjoyable experience for everyone and apply at all times while using or visiting the Sailing Center dock and associated facilities, including during special events.
1. Facility & Watercraft Use
- Sailing Center equipment may only be used during posted Sailing Center operating hours, weekly races, and special events.
- Use of Sailing Center equipment is limited to current members, paddle sport rental patrons, and their authorized guests (guests must be accompanied by member).
- All individuals using the Sailing Center facilities must have a completed and signed waiver on file, as applicable.
2. Children & Life Jackets
- Children 12 years of age and younger must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.
- Children 12 years of age and younger are required to wear a properly fitted U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket at all times.
- Everyone, regardless of age, is required to wear a properly fitted U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket while on Lake Viridian.
3. Dock Safety & Conduct
- Glass containers are prohibited on the dock and while using any Viridian Sailing Center equipment or watercraft.
- Fishing is not permitted from the Sailing Center dock at any time.
- Smoking is prohibited on the dock and while using any Viridian Sailing Center equipment or watercraft.
- Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times while on the dock are not allowed on any Viridian Sailing Center equipment or watercraft (with the exception of Service Animals).
- Littering is prohibited. Please place all trash and waste in the designated receptacles.
- Please be considerate of other members and guests by keeping noise at a reasonable level. Quiet hours, as set forth by the City of Arlington, begin at 10:00 p.m., including during special events. Excessive noise or disruptive behavior is not permitted after this time.
4. Compliance & Membership
These rules are intended to help ensure that the Viridian Sailing Center remains a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable facility for everyone. Members and guests are expected to follow all posted rules and to comply with reasonable directions from Sailing Center staff, Board members, or designated event personnel.
Failure to comply with these rules, or conduct that creates a safety concern or significantly interferes with the enjoyment of the facility by others, may result in removal from the facility and/or suspension or forfeiture of membership privileges.
