One-Hour Sailing Lesson or Scenic Sail
Enjoy an hour on the water with a Viridian Sailing Center Certified Instructor.
Whether you would like to relax and take in the beauty of the lake aboard a sailboat or learn the fundamentals of sailing and take the helm yourself, this experience can be tailored to your interests and skill level.
For scenic sailboat rides, we recommend no more than four passengers. Depending on conditions and availability, your sail will take place aboard either a 16-foot catamaran or a 14-foot Quest sailboat.
For those interested in learning to sail, instruction is customized to your current experience level and sailing goals. To maximize your time on the water, we encourage students to review online sailing resources prior to their lesson. We suggest the ten minute session from this link as a starting point. Other videos can also be found on the links section of this website:

We also require at least two sessions be purchased, as this is the minimum amount of time to ensure competency for rigging, sailing, and docking a boat.

Age Requirements: For the safety of all participants, children should be at least five (5) years of age to participate in a scenic sail or eight (8) years of age for youth sailing camps. Because sailing involves inherent risks, including the possibility of a capsize, all participants must be able to swim or tread water independently, even while wearing a properly fitted life jacket. A parent or legal guardian will be asked to confirm that these age and swimming requirements are met as part of the waiver process.
Weather Policy: Viridian Sailing Center are weather-dependent. Safety is our highest priority. In the event of unsafe conditions, including lightning, severe weather, or insufficient wind for sailing, the Center may need to be closed and lessons or events postponed or cancelled. If an event a lesson or event cannot be conducted due to weather conditions, we will gladly work with you to reschedule for another date, subject to availability.
Cancellation and Refund Policy: Because instructor time is reserved specifically for your booking, lessons are generally non-refundable once scheduled. In cases where a lesson must be canceled due to weather or other exceptional circumstances approved by the sailing center, we will make every effort to reschedule your lesson at a mutually convenient time. After booking, an instructor will contact you to confirm details and may request a slight adjustment to the lesson time if it helps accommodate existing scenic ride / sailing lesson schedules.
