Youth Race Week (Advanced Sailing) Camp
Viridian Voyagers Race Week (Advanced Sailing) Camp Take Your Sailing to the Next Level!
Ready for a new challenge? If you have successfully completed our Youth Sailing Camp or have prior Opti sailing experience from another sailing club, it is time to raise your sails and take your skills even further! The Viridian Voyagers Race Week Camp is designed for young sailors ages 8-12 who are ready to build confidence, master new techniques, and experience the excitement of competitive sailing.
During this action-packed week, campers will sharpen their sailing abilities while learning the fundamentals of racing rules, tactics, and strategies from our US Sailing Certified Instructors. Through hands-on experiences and plenty of time on the water, sailors will develop the skills needed to sail smarter, faster, and more independently.
What can advanced sailors look forward to?
- Reviewing and refining Opti rigging and boat handling skills
- Improving steering, sail trim, and navigation techniques
- Learning racing starts, strategies, and sailing rules
- Building confidence through guided on-the-water challenges
- Developing teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership skills
- Creating unforgettable memories with fellow young sailors
Campers will also have opportunities to advance through our Junior Sailing Program, progressing from Red Level to Yellow Level to Green Level. Each advancement unlocks greater independence and opportunities to enjoy sailing on beautiful Lake Viridian after camp concludes.

Weather & Safety Policy
At Viridian Voyagers, safety is always our number one priority. While we love spending every possible minute out on the water, sailing adventures depend on weather conditions.
If lightning, severe weather, or unsafe sailing conditions occur, camp activities may be adjusted or moved ashore. When conditions allow, campers may enjoy sailing-related games, challenges, and educational activities while waiting for the weather to improve.
In the rare event weather or other safety concerns prevent a camp session from taking place, we will work closely with families to determine the best available options.
Registration, Cancellation & Refund Policy
Camp enrollment is limited to ensure every sailor receives personalized instruction and plenty of hands-on experience. Because instructor time and camp spaces are reserved specifically for each participant, registrations are generally non-refundable once booked.
In the event that camp activities are affected by weather or other exceptional circumstances approved by the Viridian Sailing Center, we will make every effort to provide a fair solution, which may include rescheduling opportunities based on instructor and facility availability.
Ready to race, improve your skills, and become a stronger sailor? Join us for an exciting week of learning, adventure, friendship, and fun on the water!
